study!
argh for some reason ive lost so much motivation this week to study >.< last week was good, prolly cos i had two exams...managed to study well...but this week's gone down the drain !
it's during exams and all those newspapers, magazines, random stuff lying around suddenly become much more attractive!
ooooh wimbledon's on every nite! yay something to watch whilst on the treadmill
latest curiosity: does exercise help u lose weight?
hmmmm
exercise = expend energy so yeh
exercise = increase in muscle mass so no
hmmmm
all the best to all those ppl with exams!!

you're the nutritionist and sport scientist =P
hahahha
from a biomed/physiological perspective.... running does provide for energy burning... it takes 5-10min before you start burning the fat... the fatty acids + 02 goes to CO2 + H20 so i guess treadmill does work. your legs also use a LOT of energy when you run so running is also good for fat burn and muscle increase. Just as long as you work at an exercise rate of 60-80% HR and it's bound to burn SOMETHIN! hahah. yeah i've bn studying... i know... but still i dunno nuf!! GRRRR!! back to wrk

i wud tell u... but i finished my nutrition exam on mon :P so obviously all da stuff has gone poof...
mite b ale 2 tell u afta studying exercise physio if i ever get around 2 it >.<
hehe go USYD-ers!!
thanks for ur useful info =)
hehe i remember how exercise physiology taught us that at 70%VO2max (usually moderate intensity) u're burning 100% fat whereas at 100%VO2max u're burning 100% CHOs or something. but problem is u gotta know whot ur VO2max is =P oooh ill go look up some notes and post more useful stuff here =) i used to think that exercise anyways help u lose weight, but that tutorial taught us how its actually really hard to lose weight by exercising. diet's much more helpful unfortunately! all the best for the remaining exams!
O_o ...
i guess studying engineering doesn't teach me how to look after myself...
ALL HAIL NUTRITIONISTS!!!11
hehe actually im the only nutritionist here =P frankie's an engineer actually! u know, some ppl actually regard the top scientists and engineers as being 'more intelligent' and have more respect for their brains than doctors! whether or not u agree with that is up to u...ill shuddup before i get slapped =P
more intelligent? i gotta be the worlds best slacker who still managed to get into uni ._."
and looking at Frankie's comment hes doing health related engineering while im a bum studying how to make electricity out of the sun - how fun !
how wud diet make it "easier" 2 lose weight? coz aint u in da same situation? coz u need same amount of energy 2 survive... changing diet jes changes da proportion of products laid down... so if ur laying down protein ur still gonna get heavier... unless u wanna lay down fat :/ coz it comes down 2 equilibrium rite? exercise so u use up da extra energy so nufin gets laid down?
hehe eating less would mean that ud be dipping into ur reserves for the energy needed =P eating more would mean more energy stored hence more physical activity to burn it off. all a matter or balance =P but yeh will put more up later! hehe
oooh yupyup frankie's doing biomed engineering. hmm my friend and i were wondering (just an hr ago) abt whether biomed engineering is done as a major of B Eng, or if it's like usyd where it's a degree in which u major in something like physiology hmmmm
