to Asta & Brendon!

so much happening these days
should blog more, but either i don't have the time or there is something better to do
hmm time flies!

went to a wedding ceremony yesterday afternoon, together with my parents
was such a beautiful ceremony, such beauty in the union of asta and brendon =) it was such a joy to witness!
not to be entered into lightly or selfishly

giving yourself up for another other person
the coming together of two different people, with different values, attitudes, habits.
the reverend was saying how marriage shouldnt be aimed at developing a "new" person out of you, but rather, to grow the person you are already more and more, grow and mould you into a living sacrifice, holy and blameless in front of God
anyway marriage is beautiful. kinda analoguous to really nice wrapping paper an awesome gift comes to you in...the gift of salvation. this day and age, some see marriage as being a restrictive and all, but personally i think it's a truly wonderful blessing =)

to protect and cherish....an environment in which children can be born and nurtured for in love

made me realise once again at how far off i am from being a good girlfriend, let alone a good wife
my friend berated me though, saying that it is and always will be God who will make us "good" - good husbands and wives, good children and parents, good brothers and sisters, good friends and neighbours....people who bring glory to Him

a blog a month =P

another month just wooshed past...im continually surprised by how quickly time just flies by!
my friend suggested that it's because the older we are, the smaller the proportion of our lives a certain time period takes up, i.e. when u're three, a year takes up a third of ur life, but when u're twenty-three...u do th maths =P

been pretty awesome this past month actually! that's not to say that everything's gone amazingly well...no, far be it sometimes...but it's been one filled with all sorts of experiences, opportunities to grow in Christ, to serve Him, to serve others...talking to ppl i hadnt a chance to know before, doing some things i'd always just thought of doing. been pretty busy trying to juggle everything, but i actually find that im more productive when i have more stuff to do. takes time away from watching tv, day dreaming etc that can waste so much time!

trailwalker was pretty amazing! good on all those people who completed it! seeing them at my checkpoint made me realise that it's more challenging than i initially thought it was. *applauds*
arriving there at 12:30am, i was thinking how long the night will be, how it'd be boring halfway through etc, and glad that i brought along a book! but the time went past really quickly, one highlight being seeing my friends who were actually walking!! another highlight was the quality of the team work. got on surprisingly well with all those people whom i'd never met before! was a great time all in all...didnt end up touching my book at all! they're having a drinks night this coming wed, wonder if i should go. hehe will be great to see them all again, but im not into booze...hmm but then again i havent had alcohol since my cousin's bday june last year =P hehe drinking or tennis this wed?? hehe 99% sure of the latter =)

anyway, bridal shower was great yesterday =) marriage....waaaah...preparations can take up so much time and energy!! cant imagine myself getting married...talking to them yesterday made me realise how "fashionably challenged" won't be able to put on a wedding beyond 'stomp into a church with a minister and other necessary ppl, repeat a few sentences and the end' to save my life! but im even more challenged by wot underlies (and lies beyond) the ceremony that is sooo much more important than the wedding itself. marriage. that one word encapsulating the it all! cant even begin to describe this most intimate connection betweeen two humans, the great blessing it is, the beauty of it, the hard work of commitment, the very institution modelling the relationship between Christ and the church....

ohhh EU is having mission weeks this upcoming fortnight! launching it off with a debate between a christian and an athetist about the existence and relevance of God =) never listened to a debate about this before! looking forward to it! EU stuff been going well, same with ECU stuff! heard from one friend about Consider Christ so far, and that's been encouraging! wonder how many more amazing, life-transforming stories were written that night =)

so much more to write! hehe but really should hop off and study for my exam at 8am on tues! worth 35%...in class essay! havent written an essay for so long, besides the moore college ones. hmm must go prepare for it! and catch up with other uni stuff too!
